July 2009 events in the Finger Lakes for Dog Lovers!

FingerLakesWine.com reports that two wine-related events in July will focus on dogs.

The fourth annual Grapehounds Wine Tour will be held at Finger Lakes Creek Cabins at 2382 Parmenter Road near the village of Lodi, Seneca County. The event will be from July 23-26 and include wine tasting, food, music, and seminars on dog health and behavior, with proceeds benefiting greyhound adoption organizations.

Admission is $10 for adults Thursday, Friday or Saturday; children younger than 18 will be admitted free. On Sunday, admission is free for all.

At 9 a.m. Sunday, greyhounds and their owners may participate in a ranger-guided walk to Taughannock Falls, a 215-foot waterfall in a state park north of Ithaca.

Go to www.grapehounds.com to register.

On July 23-26, 2009 the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail will host the Pets, Art and Wine (P.A.W.) event. Sixteen wineries along the trail will offer wine tastings, lawn concerts, seminars and dog land and water demonstrations.
