What white wine with red meat?

In the Telegraph article 'Matching wine and food with Gary Rhodes - Be bold with your wine selection and turn a good meal into an unforgettable one,' Catalina Stogdon shares wine and food pairing advice from Stella wine columnist Susy Atkins and Chef Gary Rhodes.

I am especially interested in Atkins' opinion that most meats can be paired with fruity whites. This is great news for wine drinkers who prefer white wines but are bound by the outdated thinking that ALL red meats must be paired with a red wine.
