What food to serve with Rioja wine

Will you be enjoying Latin cuisine on Cinco de Mayo?

Vibrant Rioja offers a list of food pairings for wines from the Rioja region of Spain!

Here are their suggestions:

Rioja Blanco pairs with green salad, shrimp cocktail or shellfish.

Barrel Fermented White Rioja matches with richer fish (salmon, tuna),shellfish and things that actually have fruit in them (mango salsa for example).

Rioja Tinto Joven pairs with beef or turkey.

Rioja Tinto Crianza is a match for whole roasted fish, beef and pasta.

Rioja Tinto Reserva can be served with with lamb, risotto, pork, ratatouille.

Rioja Tinto Gran Reserva matches with fall and winter stews, sautéed
mushrooms and game birds, including duck, venison and pheasant
.

what dishes have you had that paired well with a Rioja wine?

I love Enchiladas and Rioja Wine!
